H+ Summer Intern: Sofia Lombard

A huge thank you to the H+ Summer Intern Sofia Lombardi, an exceptionally talented graphic designer and animator who has made a significant impact during her summer internship with us. Sofia hails from Guatemala and is currently honing her skills at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work is characterized by a minimalist style, where she masterfully transforms typography into compelling imagery.

Sofia’s connection to nature is a recurring theme in her work. Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of Guatemala, she has developed a profound appreciation for the environment. This influence is evident in her animations, where she explores the intricate relationship between humans and nature. Her designs often evoke a sense of tranquility and wonder, inviting viewers to reflect on the world around them.

One of the standout pieces Sofia created during her internship includes a mesmerizing 3D spinning H+ logo. This piece showcases her technical prowess and creative vision, bringing the logo to life in a dynamic and engaging way. Additionally, she designed a series of GIFs that depict the H+ logo as inflatable balloons, adding a playful and whimsical touch. These creations not only demonstrate her versatility as a designer but also her keen ability to infuse personality and character into her work. We accept internships on a quarterly basis and love supporting emerging talent!
