CREATIVE: Peter Tarka
CLIENT: D1 Milano
ROLE: 3D Animation, Illustration, Product Design
Peter Tarka brings his signature world of playful geometry and impossible proportions into physical form for D1 Milano, transforming a surreal 3D concept into The Impossible Watch. Working entirely in digital sculpture before a single sketch, Tarka designs a piece built around three rotating time discs, a seven dot weekday display, and a retro futuristic silhouette that reads as much as artwork as timepiece. The collaboration reengineers his original vision in lightweight aluminum, preserving the bold sculptural identity while making it wearable for daily life.
Available in four expressive color editions, the collection captures Tarka's distinctive visual language: precise, colorful, and technically impossible at first glance. The project marks a milestone moment for both creative and brand, translating digital imagination into a tactile design object and inviting collectors into a genuinely new way to experience time.

The collaboration reflects a growing appetite for design objects that blur the line between art and product, inviting collectors to wear a piece of digital imagination rather than simply tell time. With backing well beyond its original goal and recognition from design press worldwide, The Impossible Watch stands as a milestone in Tarka's practice: proof that a concept born entirely in 3D space can find its way onto the wrist, unreleased territory for both artist and brand alike.
