Meet Hannah Stouffer, Founder / Director @ H+ Creative

Shoutout Miami had the good fortune of connecting with our very own Hannah Stouffer, learn more about H+ Creative and check out what she had to share below:

SM: Hi Hannah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

HS: In 2015 I ventured out to start something bigger than myself, to curate, support and assist a hand selected group of artists who’s style and aesthetic I was deeply attracted to. I had been a working artist and commercial illustrator for about 10 years prior, and was ready to build something greater, to promote the work of others and use the knowledge I had gained in my professional experience for the betterment of their careers while growing something completely new. I had a vision in mind as to what that would look like, how it would visually be defined and where we could take it. I wanted to focus on a specific visual, creative aesthetic, something that wouldn’t be defined by an artist’s medium, but more a feeling. Now 7 years in, I can proudly say that it’s working, we’re established and known for exactly that, and there is still so much room to take it further, so much I’d like to achieve with H+ Creative.

SM: Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

HS: H+ Creative is an artist representation firm and visual services studio, focused on the future of creative media through vibrantly executed imagery. The abbreviation H+ is based in Transhumanism, an international philosophical movement that advocates for the transformation and benefit of the human condition using technologies to greatly enhance human intellect and physiology.

We are proud to be a woman owned and operated boutique creative studio that represents a tight-knit roster of top-tier, diverse international artists. We work directly with clients and collaborators, specializing in everything from digital to traditional illustration, 3D, motion and animation to visuals and experiential installation.

My history in both commercial illustration and fine art has guided both the direction and talent of the agency, with my curatorial hand in all parts of the creative selection process. I have an extensive background in the art world, curating, writing and of course creating, and with over 15 years experience, I take great pride in the deeply-rooted network of talent we maintain in the creative industry.

SM: Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

HS: I’m based in Los Angeles, but travel to Miami often for Art Basel in December, NFT conventions, zine fests and to experience the incredible sprawl of everything it has to offer. Of course I always hit south beach for some of the best beaches I’ve ever been to, and Wynwood to see what’s happening with the murals over there and array of amazing boutiques, new restaurants and cafes. Panther Coffee is a central staple and Gramps bar is always a fun time at night. Definitely search out some gallery shows, go by Artechouse and see what’s happening Pérez Art Museum Miami. Find yourself some cuban food, a cafecito and rent a bike or a scooter to cruise from South beach to North beach and take it all in.

SM: Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

HS: All I do is shout people out, that’s what it’s all about. Lifting people up, celebrating their wins, and sharing their hard work. I’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible artists, creatives, producers, clients and collaborators across the globe and I want to shout them ALL out. There is no short winded way to do that, but our website and Instagram account that we maintain has an endless amount of inspiration from the artists we represent to the clients we’ve partnered with. I’d highly recommend following every single one of them.
